During the 37-year period, there were 820,759 guns sold. If you are a fan of Remington rimfire rifles, you will love this owners manual for the Model 12 and 12A. Pederson, was introduced in 1909 and produced through 1936. 1968: NO SERIAL NUMBER PREFIXġ987 TO PRESENT: “PC” 12 GA., 1999 “TL“ 20 GA. The Remington Model 12 is a slide-action, solid-breech, hammerless, takedown, side-ejection rifle. LW MAGNUM (ALSO INCLUDES M/1100 “LT”)ġ963 TO APPROX. “LIGHT WEIGHT” (“LW”) (ALSO INCLUDES M/1100 “LT”) REMINGTON SHOTGUN SERIAL NUMBER STRUCTUREġ950 TO APPROX 1968: NO SERIAL NUMBER PREFIXġ968 TO PRESENT: LETTERS USED (IN SEQUENCE) If you can't figure it out, maybe some of the 1100 gurus might chime in with some thoughts. Here's another list with some of the letter codes for the serial numbers. The letter "K" could be for the year 1963 and wouldn't have a serial number prefix, but that sounds a little suspicious, too. The letters "K I" would be May of 1976 (pre-1980), but then there should be a prefix letter of "M" in the serial number. Check the serial numbers located on the left side of the barrel on your Remington shotgun. As I remember this was a nice ladies gun with a minimal kick but it's been over 20 years since I shot it at the local turkey shoot, still don't need any turkeys. Because of this I've been holding onto it for the past 6 years and haven't tried shooting it as I'd be concerned it was unsafe but now my daughter is too big for the 410 and wants to shoot something bigger. If no one can help me that's fine, as soon as I register it I can take it to a gunsmith, there's a little broken clip that causes it to jam if you attempt to eject a shell. The barrel has the code AFKI or AFK1, I'm unsure as the stamping is messy. There aren't any prefix codes to the serial. The receiver has the serial 491**V, I understand V to mean 12 gauge. I know my father purchased it before 1980. I'm unsure as to how you get the exact length of the barrel. What I know it's a 12 gauge, 2 3/4 with a full ribbed barrel. Do I call Remington to find out this information. I am trying to find out when it was made All I have is its serial number and a letter from the left side of the barrel. I used to know a lot about guns and hunted all the time with my father, he fell ill some five years ago and passed away, before then he just randomly gave me this gun and gave the rest of them to my stupid brother I guess he figured the 1100 would be a good gurly gun and I used to shoot skeet with my little gurly 410. I have a Remington model 12CS that I inherited from my grandfather. They resumed stamping the date code on the barrel on 10/1/01.I apologize because I'm sure this has been asked a lot. They continued to mark the date code on the end flap of the shipping box. On 8/9/99, stopped stamping the barrels with the date code. One needs to be sure that the barrel is original to the gun before trusting the Barrel Code listing, above. Description: Remingtons first side ejecting repeating shotgun Introduction Year: 1931 Year Discontinued: 1949 Total Production: Approximately: 196,000. Using these barrel codes to date a shotgun is somewhat unreliable, as shotgun barrels are often interchanged at random. Using barrel codes (such as those listed above) to date the manufacture are reliable on Remington rifles, as the company rarely changed barrels on a customer’s rifle. Serial Numbers by date (factory record book)Ī few other serial lists… NO A LOT LOOK HERE! B – Jan – K – P – O – W – D – E – R – X Barrel Code Location Diagram Months of the year, for example B=January, L= February Did any of the grades come this way from the factory. I have a Remington Model 25 that has a silver instead of blued action bar. Near the frame that identifies the year and month of 25-20 with a serial number of 312XX with a barrel date code of 'O E' which would be July of 1936. Have a code located on the left side of the barrel
